Sometimes, you might feel useless to help the charities that have done the most for you in the past or whose mission you respect, especially if you are not financially stable. However, running with a purpose can allow you to help the charities that do good in the world and in your local community. People are more likely to donate to a cause if they can sponsor someone to participate in an intriguing challenge. This is especially the case if you are not usually a runner or interested in sport. By running a marathon or a similar race, you will have grounds to ask people for sponsorships and raise awareness of the charity that you love. This money can be used by the organisation, such as Macmillan Cancer Research, to continue having the positive effect that they do.

However, there are positive effects to running with a purpose for you as well as the charity in question. Running with a purpose can boost your mood and help you to see the world in a positive light.
