Ludhiana: Income Tax officials have detected tax evasion by a clocated in Gokul enclave. The dealer of the cafe had allegedly not been filing tax for the past six months.
Officials said that they received a complaint under the state government’s initiative, “Bill liao inaam pao” scheme. Taking immediate action on the complaint, officials led by deputy commissioner state taxes (DCST) Randhir Kaur, conducted a probe and detected evasion of tax by the establishment.
The complaint was lodged by a consumer who went to the establishment and detected evasion of tax, said officials.“Bill liao inaam pao” is an exclusive initiative of the state government to encourage people to collect bills from establishments.

Income tax sleuths initiated searches in 30 places linked to a real estate developer in Tamil Nadu, including Chennai. The searches targeted properties of the Coimbatore-based real estate developer and the firms contractors due to allegations of tax evasion worth crores of rupees. The operation extended to various cities, including Madurai, Erode, Salem, and Virudhunagar. CRPF personnel were deployed to secure the searched premises.
