Mahira Khan pays tribute to Parveen Babi, says ‘She was so beautiful, such a style icon’ | Hindi Movie News

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan who was seen opposite Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Raees‘ and is known for some of her most popular dramas like ‘Humsafar’ has paid a tribute to Parveen Babi. She shot for a fashion brand and her look was inspired by the diva who was known for her peculiar hairstyle and dressing sense.
Mahira got the exact same haircut with flicks and a middle partying and the striking resemblance to Parveen was hard to miss in the video.She was seen in a glittery pink saree for the first look, followed by more looks dashed with shine and shimmer. In this BTS video of the shoot, Mahira can be seen praising Babi. She said, “So I remember seeing this Time magazine cover and it had the gorgeous Parveen Babi on it. It’s because of that cover that I actually watched her films. Some of her songs I just love. She was so beautiful, such a style icon.”
The video also had a montage of several looks and songs of Parveen. Babi is still remembered for her iconic movies like ‘Majboor’, ‘Deewar’, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Shaan’, Kalia’ among others.
Khan also sang Parveen’s popular, iconic song, ‘Jawani Janeman Haseen Dilruba’ from ‘Namak Halal‘. Mahira shared this video on her story and shared that this was a tough shoot for her as she was suffering from a foot injury. Mahira wrote, “This was a tough shoot, my first since my foot injury (three fractures in my right foot to be precise). I couldn’t move much and I was hating it. The team was sooo loving and caring…love you guys.”

Mahira recently tied the knot with long term boyfriend Salim Karim in an intimate ceremony and her wedding festivity videos won hearts on the internet.
