JOB SCOPE SUMMARY
The position is responsible for developing an effective Merchant marketing, engagement and offers strategy for Global Merchant Services team in order to drive merchant engagement, merchant activation, brand visibility at POS and enhance perception of Coverage in the market.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MEANS
The candidate will have extensive experience in marketing and engagement to design and implement strategies to engage with merchants and drive billings and activations.
The Senior Manager – Merchant Marketing will require to work closely with various business functions and teams which include merchant acquisition and relationship management teams, aggregators and partnerships
The key responsibilities of the role are listed as below.
MERCHANT OFFERS, ENGAGEMENT & ACTIVATION
Manage and implement marketing alliances/offers ( both Online and Offline ) to drive billed business for American Express Proprietary business
Leverage 360 degree marketing channels to roll out marketing offers to customers
Manage and optimize offers platforms ensuring maximum utilization and right targeting of offers to drive marketing campaigns
Manage and launch Merchant Activation promotions to drive higher activation rates in the market
Create new and innovative ways to engage with merchants at every stage of merchant lifecycle
Drive Brand visibility and presence in the market through innovative Point Of Purchase collaterals
Ideation and execution of various initiatives campaigns to enhance Perception of Coverage initiatives in the market across proprietary and acquiring bank partners
Plan, execute, and measure experiments and A/B tests
Overall program management in terms of managing program metrics, undertaking necessary marketing interventions/ campaigns to track program metrics to target, and enhancing program scope/scale, appeal and customer experience
Work with internal Review Board stakeholders to approve marketing claims being used in creative work.
Work closely with cross functional and external partners ( from various industries)
Work with internal and external teams/stakeholders to achieve metrics/targets pertaining to all marketing programs
MENTORING AND DEVELOPING TEAM
Mentor on key skills with in merchant marketing for the team to develop further
Collaborate and Train teams to implement optimized merchant/user experience
Demonstrate multi-tasking abilities
Guide team to lead with innovation
COMPETITORS AND TECHNOLOGY WATCH
Analyze and evaluate end-to-end merchant experience across multiple channels and customer touch points
Monitor competitor activities / developments in the industry and work with the marketing team to define responses to competitor activities where appropriate.
Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights
Designing new and creative growth strategies
Qualifications
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Knowledge of marketing tactics and strategies required
Ability to plan, strategize and execute marketing campaigns
Ability to diagnose reports and analyze data
Possess good time management and ability to multi-task
Has good communication and interpersonal skills
Able to work independently and proactively
Familiar with content management systems is an added advantage
Good understanding of the consumer financial services industry
Ability to collaborate and work in a multi-cultural environment
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 5-7 years of post-graduation experience, MBA preferred with experience in marketing
Knowledge of payments and acquiring business is preferred, though not mandatory
Good command over communication and ability to leverage relationships across various stakeholders in order to drive results
