Senior Field Network Engineer Full Time
Job Description
Seeking experienced systems engineer to work as a senior level field engineer working with corporate network environments throughout the NY metro area. The candidate should be a motivated individual looking to work in an exciting atmosphere with tremendous growth opportunity. Work will entail installing, maintaining, analyzing and supporting server environments. Responsibilities will be diverse, challenging, and require personal judgment. Prefer to have experience working in an MSP environment. Laptop provided. Car required. Nights and weekend coverage on rotational basis. Responsibilities Provide Support for corporate mixed environment networks. Onsite and/ or Remote Support of Windows 2008, 2012 and Virtual Server and Terminal Server environments Troubleshooting, recommendation and implementation of backup solutions. Implementation and troubleshooting and training for various anti- spam technologies. Implementation and troubleshooting of Exchange Servers and Hosted Exchange products. Implementation of firewalls/ routers Knowledge of switch management/ VLANs. Firewall/ Router experience Qualifications 3 Years Experience computer networking 3 Years Experience with Active Directory 3 Years Experience with Microsoft Exchange Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Skills Server OS Experience: Windows 2008/ 2012/ Virtual Servers Active Directory Cisco Switching and Routing (via CLI) Hosted/ Onsite Exchange email implementation and administration Virus protection and removal Intimate knowledge of TCP/ IP, DNS, DHCP and understanding of their impact on a network. Understanding of IIS, FTP, and SSL Server/ Desktop Skills Desktop OS Experience: Windows 7/ 8.1 Rack, Desktop, Laptop, Workstation Spyware/ Adware/ Virus removal Software and hardware troubleshooting Hardware/ Software RAID Personal Skills Strong communication and language skills Strong customer service skills Focus on clear and timely documentation judgement. Responsibilities Provide Support for Windows Based networks for small to medium sized businesses Troubleshooting, recommendation and implementation of backup solutions Implementation and troubleshooting and training for Exchange / hosted email and various anti spam technologies. Troubleshooting and Support of Exchange and Blackberry Enterprise Server Troubleshooting and Support of Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Mail security for Exchange. Troubleshooting and Support of Sonicwall and Cisco firewalls/ routers.,
