Home of CEO of SAIF in Oregon Shot at, No Injures Reported 2025

 

Various media outlets have reported shots were fired into the home of the head of Oregon worker’s compensation insurer SAIF Corp.

The outlets are reporting that the early-morning Feb. 21 shooting occurred at the Lake Oswego home of the SAIF CEO Chip Terhune, however no injuries were reported.

Following the shooting, Terhune reportedly sent an email to SAIF employees stating:

“We have received an email threat purporting to be from the person(s) responsible,” Terhune wrote in a Feb. 22 email obtained by the Oregon Journalism Project. “Although it does not target any specific employee, the email references knowledge of employee and relatives’ names and addresses.”

An SAIF spokesperson has been reached out to for comment.

Police canvassed streets near Terhune’s house over the weekend, seeking home security camera footage of a masked person dressed in black that would have been taken early Friday morning, Willamette Week is reporting.

SAIF, a non-for-profit, is Oregon’s largest workers’ comp provider.

Terhune has been the president and CEO of SAIF since July 2021. He was a senior vice president with Medecision before that. He’s also worked for Cambia Health Solutions. Terhune is on the board of the National Council on Compensation Insurance.
