Lucknow: As many as 33 families facing eviction from Akbarnagar were allotted flats by the Lucknow Development Authority under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in its Basant Kunj Scheme. The allotment was done at a special camp held on Monday.
These 33 families had filed applications for allotment of houses under PMAY. The LDA is evacuating residents of Akbarnagar because, as per the officials, the colony has been built on the Kukrail river bed in violation to National Green Tribunal norms, said officials.A total of 82 applications were received in the special camp. Of these, 46 were verified by the District Urban Development Agency (DUDA). Among them, 33 were given allotment letters on the spot, while the rest 13 will be given later. The process of verification of the remaining is underway. The special camp will continue till January 21, they added. Lucknow divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob said, “If people have any doubt regarding the scheme and rehabilitation programme, they can come to the camp for required information.”
“People are requested to visit the special camp.” said Indramani Tripathi, LDA VC.
