Kanpur:Mayor Kanpur Pramila Pandey on Monday directed the officials of Kanpur Municipal corporation that all 403 temples of all zones must be cleaned and the approach road must be outlined with lime powder and provide 1,100 earthen lamps, cotton and oil to each corporator for lighting the earthen lamp in the evening. tnn

Akhil Kumar appointed new Kanpur police commissioner
The Uttar Pradesh government transferred seven IPS officers, including the Additional Director General of Police, Gorakhpur Zone, Akhil Kumar, who was appointed as the new Police Commissioner of Kanpur. RK Swarnkar, the Police Commissioner of Kanpur, was shifted to the Arms Training Center (ATC) in Sitapur. Sujeet Pandey, the Additional DG of ATC, became the new ADG of Provincial Armed Constabulary. Pratap Kumar, the Additional DG of PAC, was appointed as the new ADG of Gorakhpur Police Zone. Rajeev Sabarwal, the ADG of Meerut Police Zone, was replaced by DK Thakur, the ADG of Uttar Pradesh Police Promotion and Recruitment Board (UPPPRB). Sabarwal was made the ADG of Training at BR Academy. Ashok Kumar, who was attached to DGP headquarters, was made the ADG of UPPPRB.
