Man buying goat online duped of Rs 86000 Mumbai.cms

MUMBAI: A businessman who was looking for buying a goat online was duped of Rs 86,000 by a conman who impersonated as a wholesale dealer of goats and asked him to transfer the money.
Complainant Mohammed Qureshi who runs a mobile stores was looking for buying a goat online. He came across a WhatsApp message from one Ashraf Qureshi from Royal Goat Farm. Ashraf claimed that he runs a farm house and sent him pictures and videos of various goats and after he choose one goat, the deal was struck at 86,695 plus transportation of Rs 6,600. Ashraf asked him to pay him the said amount than only he will sent the goat.
On January 2, Mohammed transferred the said amount through google pay. Ashraf asked him to wait at Godrej junction at Vikhroli the vehicle carrying the goat will arrive. Mohammed waited for hours and tried calling the tempo driver’s mobile as well Ashraf’s number but both were found to be switched off. It was here he understood that he was duped by Ashraf. Chunabhatti police has registered an offence of cheating and information technology against Ashraf.
