Live Unlimited tops list of fastest-growing UK fashion firms

A new listing of the fastest-growing UK businesses has seen Live Unlimited coming out top among fashion and accessories names. And in fact, it’s very close to the top of the list overall, coming in as Britain’s eighth fastest-growing firm.

The ranking, which was compiled by consulting and executive search business Oresa, showed size-inclusive specialist Live Unlimited with a 175.5% two-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and a turnover of £9.9 million in the latest period for which accounts are available (the year to late 2022).

The company hasn’t released any later figures but only last month said it saw “positive” financial end of year results for 2023.

Inspecs Group, meanwhile, is in 19th place. The company makes eyewear for Superdry, O’Neill, Radley, Barbour, Ted Baker and Lulu Guinness, as well as its own brands. It saw a CAGR of 143.26% in the two-year period to the end of 2022, its latest revenues reaching £205.6 million.

However, it’s likely to tumble down the next list as only this month it said group revenue for the year to 31 December rose by just £2.3 million and fell slightly at constant exchange rates.

Moss is in 38th spot, its two-year CAGR for the period to January 2023 almost doubling, with turnover rising to £151.6 million.

And Mint Velvet is in 43rd place, with a 93.5% jump to £143.7 million. Close behind it at number 45 is ME+EM with 91.84% increase to £82 million.

And close too was the final fashion business on the list with Sosandar seeing an 86.82% rise to £46.5 million. Again, it’s likely to be lower next time because while growth is continuing, this month it reported FY24 revenue up ‘only’ 9%.
