Squatters: Squatters To Be Removed From Key Spots | Lucknow News
Lucknow: Divisional commissioner on Monday instructed the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) to launch a dedicated drive in the city to free crucial spots of encroachments.
Chairing a meeting to review the status of encroachments and sanitation, divisional commissioner Roshan Jacob pulled up LMC officials for turning a blind eye towards civic problems.
Jacob asked officials to launch a dedicated drive, at least two days a week, to remove all squatters from the streets. “All such squatters should be issued challans to create a deterrent,” she said.
The commissioner also reiterated her previous directions of ensuring that the sanitation staff should hit the ground as early as 6am to clean the roads before office hour rush.
“While the cleaning staff should start sweeping the streets from 6am, LMC should conduct thorough inspection of all key areas by 9am,” she said.
